Alumni and current members of Alpha Chi Rho will be getting together for a Picnic at the Chapter House on Saturday, July 12 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM. The Chapter's Annual Meeting will then be held and all Alumni are encouraged to attend this meeting which will begin at 1:00 PM. This will be a fun time to get together and see all the latest improvements that have been completed at the Chapter House in recent years. The Annual Meeting will provide information on the current activities going on at the Chapter and discussions on future improvements being considered, along with elections on the Alumni Association (Building Corporation). Great time to be had by all and please drop Jim Dreyfuss an E-Mail (JimDreyfuss@Comcast.net) if you plan to attend. Elections at Annual Meeting - As part of our Annual Meeting, we will be holding elections and the following positions have their 2 year terms up for election. We have a number of open positions this year and we would encourage alumni to run for positions. All positions unless stated below are for a two year term. Please send me names of any alumni you would like to nominate, but please check with them that they are willing to run for any of the positions below. You may also nominate yourself and again, please send me an E-Mail with your contact information. a. President - While this position is not up this year, the current President, Marty Mazzella ('84) has indicated he will not be able to serve the balance of his term (1 year) with work and family commitments. Jim Dreyfuss has been nominated at this time to fill the 1 year term. b. Vice President - Open and no nominations at this time c. Secretary - Open and no nominations at this time d. Director 4 - Open and Abe Miller has indicated that he is willing to run again, but indicated with his schedule, that he would prefer giving up his position if someone can make the meetings (conference calls) more often. e. Director 5 - Open and Rich Boziwick has indicated that he is willing to run again, but indicated with his schedule, that he would prefer giving up his position if someone can make the meetings (conference calls) more often. f. We are pleased to announce that the new roof project was completed during July. The old roof was in poor condition and while no leaks were being experienced, it was just a matter of time. It was determined that the primary reason for the premature roof failure was poor ventilation. Two large static vents were installed to provide the necessary ventilation given the volume of the attic area. Two new 6" bathroom fan vents were also installed to replace the old 4" vents which were determined to be undersized to handle the two bathroom fans in each bathroom that connected to each of the roof outlets. The chimney concrete cap was also in very poor condition and replaced, along with all new exterior paneling on the chimney housing. Bids were requested from 10 vendors and a very detailed search and analysis was conducted and led to the project being awarded to Bertrand's Construction based out of Ogdensburg, NY. Bertrand's Construction was found to be a very high quality contractor and came with multiple positive references. They completed the entire job in just two days and had a crew of 10 workers, along with all the necessary equipment to complete the job in a quality and thorough manner. Please see the pictures of this Project under the "Photo" section, "2013". MANY thanks to all the Alumni that provided donations to make this project a reality!!
